About Prof. Timothy J. Lynch
Timothy J. Lynch is a leading expert in American politics and foreign policy. A professor at the University of Melbourne, his work spans acclaimed books such as In the Shadow of the Cold War (2020) and the award-winning After Bush: The Case for Continuity in American Foreign Policy (2008).
With deep insights into U.S. diplomacy, Tim’s career has taken him across the globe as a two-time Fulbright scholar and a visiting professor in America’s political heartlands. His courses on American and Great Power politics are among the most popular at Melbourne, where he also led major international engagement efforts as Associate Dean (International).
Tim has a knack for bridging academia and public discourse, evident in his widely read op-eds and his leadership in community programs like Melbourne’s sell-out 10 Great Books Masterclass.
